RESEARCH
Division of Bioinformatics was founded in 2015. Scientific research conducted by the staff of the Division of Bioinformatics focuses on the development of machine learning algorithms and the possibilities of their application in the analysis of various biological and medical problems. In particular, the subject of interest is the problem of identifying important variables in decision systems and search for factors responsible for biological effects – the development of diseases, drug resistance, odor recognition and many others. The staff of the Division of Bioinformatics takes part in international research experiments by responding to challenges, including experiments carried out as part of the DREAM consortium and the CAMDA community. They also conduct interdisciplinary research in cooperation with a wide variety of domestic and foreign research teams, representing biological, medical, chemical and agricultural sciences.
